Lava Blaze Pro 5G: India’s First 5G Smartphone With MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC

Domestic smartphone maker Lava International has launched a new budget 5G offering dubbed as the Blaze Pro 5G. This new device is the company’s latest smartphone in the Blaze Series lineup and it comes with a slew of features including a 120Hz display, dual cameras, a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and more. It is available for purchase in the Starry Night and Radiant Pearl colour options at Rs 12,499 starting today on Amazon India and the brand’s e-store.

The highlight of the Lava Blaze Pro 5G is its immersive 6.78-inch display which offers a 120Hz refresh rate. The company claims that this display delivers rich colors, deep contrasts, and sharp details making it suitable for multimedia consumption and productivity tasks. The phone also sports a color-changing rear panel for added style.

Under the hood, the device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage which is expandable by up to 1TB via a microSD card. The SoC is based on the 7nm architecture and supports LPDDR4X memory, allowing it to handle demanding applications with ease. For security, the smartphone gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and facial recognition for biometric authentication. Additionally, it supports anonymous call recording which is a useful feature for those who use their smartphones for work purposes.

On the optics front, the Blaze Pro 5G carries a dual rear camera unit led by a 50-megapixel main sensor. It is backed by a secondary sensor and an LED flash. The front of the smartphone houses an 8-megapixel camera for selfies. On the software front, the phone runs a near-stock version of Android 13 and is claimed to deliver a smooth experience.

The Lava Blaze Pro 5G is backed by a 5,000mAh battery which can be quickly charged with the help of the 33W fast charger provided in the box. It also supports wireless connectivity options such as 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C. Sensors on the handset include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

The Blaze Pro 5G was announced in India on Tuesday (September 26) alongside the company’s existing Blaze Pro 4G and Blaze Pro Lite. All three smartphones will be made available on Amazon and Lava’s e-store from October 3 onwards. In addition, the company is offering ‘free service at home’ for the smartphone which provides support from the comfort of customers’ homes in case of any issues. This is a welcome move which will surely make the new smartphone an attractive option for those looking to upgrade to 5G connectivity on a budget. In terms of pricing, the Blaze Pro 5G competes with phones like the Infinix Hot 5 G Plus, Realme Narzo 60 5G, and others in the price range of Rs 15,000. The new Lava smartphone will be available to buy from both online and offline channels from October 3. The company has also promised that it will offer “free replacement of the battery within six months from the date of purchase.”
