Epson Launches New 4K Laser Projectors With Giant 300-Inch Displays

Epson is enlarging your home cinema with a new line of 4K laser projectors that will make a large screen part of your living room. Epson launches three new models in its line up; the Home Cinema LS5000, LS6000, and LS7500, all of which feature 4K HDR images, laser light and Epson’s 3-chip 3LCD technology. These projectors will generate image sizes up to 300 inches, so whether you’re a movie lover, gamer, or sports fan you’ll be enjoying a bigger view than your standard TV.

The new projectors announced on 22 September as part of the company’s growing Home Cinema range, and the aim is to cater to consumers looking to create flexible entertainment areas, rather than just upgrade their dedicated home cinema rooms. Epson says the projectors are suitable for gaming, live sports and movies and are configurable to different room sizes.

Epson introduces this new projector line as the first 3-chip 3LCD projectors to include a new, laser light source. Based on the company, the projectors generate a complete 8.29-million-pixel on-screen image using its exclusive 4K Display Technology. The light output varies from 2,500 lumens for the LS5000, to 3,500 lumens for the LS7500, providing a bright image with all the benefits of 3LCD imaging.

The new models mark a new entry point in the series with the LS5000 starting off at a suggested retail price of $1,999.99. This model offers 2,500 lumens and is aimed at traditional home theater use cases. The next step up is the LS6000 with a suggested retail price of $2,199.99 offering up to 3,400 lumens with the highest end LS7500 costing $2,699.99 at 3,500 lumens.

The LS7500 is quite unique for anyone who doesn’t have an enormous room for the projector to fill. It is a short-throw lens, which means that it can sit close to the screen and still expand to a 300″ projection as stated in the specifications.

Gaming is yet another big highlight in the new lineup. Essentially all three projectors are able to handle 4K HDR content at up to 120Hz refresh rates using the bigger bandwidth HDMI 2.1 port. They also all build in Auto Low Latency Mode that helps minimize the lag between a player’s finger hitting the button and what the player actually sees on the screen and if someone’s using a projector as their gaming monitor, that giant image plus high refresh rate could bring a far more immersive user experience.

The company also designed the projectors for installation flexibility. They have a wide-range manual lens shift and two HDMI connections that cater to the latest entertainment appliances. Support for Bluetooth 6.0 in the projectors enables wireless headphone pairing and so watching movies or games without disturbing rest of the family becomes even easier.

They also support HDR10 and HLG content so compatible movies, shows, and games can boast a greater spectrum of brightness and contrast. Epson has aimed these projectors at people who want the cinema experience but don’t want to buy a cinema room.
